Baltic Amber Necklaces

Baltic Amber Necklaces

What is Baltic Amber?
Amber is a natural resin which oozed out of a tree and eventually fossilised between recent times and a few hundred million years ago. The Baltic region is home to the largest known deposit of amber, where it was produced by extinct coniferous trees. Amber is not a stone, therefore it is light and warm to touch.

How does the amber necklace work?
The warmth of the skin triggers the fossilised resin to release its natural oils. Wearing Baltic amber close to the skin is a traditional European remedy for baby teething. A natural analgesic, amber will help calm a baby without resorting to drugs. Used for centuries in Europe, amber's natural anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties are perfect to soothe teething babies. Amber releases its therapeutic properties safely and naturally.

Natural Baltic Amber is high in succinic acid, it can contain as much as 8% by weight. Succinic Acid is used in the Krebs Cycle (Citric Acid Cycle), which refers to a complex series of chemical reactions in all cells that utilize oxygen as part or their respiration process. The Krebs Cycle is a vital part of the energy production process in all living beings.
Succinic acid is also used in treatment of acid reflux and heartburn, which can affect babies during teething due to the excessive amount of saliva swallowed.

Can amber be used for other ailments?
Natural Baltic Amber promotes fast healing and boosts the immune system. It aids in the reduction of acidity in the body, nappy rash and fevers. It is also recomended for allergies and eczema.
Amber is also known to treat the throat, stomach, spleen, kidneys, bladder, liver and gallbladder, alleviates joint problems, and strengthen the mucus membranes. Also as an elixir and for wound healing, it is an excellent natural antibiotic.

How are the necklaces made?
WeeRascals Amber Necklaces are made with genuine baltic amber beads and 50/50 Cotton & Silk Thread. The clasp is made from plastic with a screw mechanism.

What happens if the necklace breaks?
Each necklace is unique and knotted between each bead, so if the necklace does break (if will break if excessive force is applied) only one bead will come off and the remaining beads will stay intact. The screw clasp will also release if excessive force is applied, ensuring the highest safety.
